The CiderHouse
Previously home to Farm Camp, weddings, barn dances, and more, this log barn has a rich history here on the farm. This historic 180-year old building is now the Saunders Cider taproom called The CiderHouse.

The CiderHouse Timelines
1840 - The area was covered with large cedar trees, perfect for building log structures favoured by the early European settlers. The Log Barn was built with large cedar logs in the 1840’s and was originally a home for all sorts of livestock and feed in the mow.
1976 - When the Saunders bought the farm in 1976, they used it to raise cows and pigs.
1991 - The Saunders family renovated the building and it housed the first Barn of Terror haunted house in 1992.
2021 - Opening as The CiderHouse at Saunders Farm, the new Taproom and restaurant. It was chosen as the site of The CiderHouse for its deep connection to the land (it’s the oldest building here). Apple trees sink their roots deep into the soil and growing apples and making cider is a multi-generational affair.

The Vision
We look forward to the future of The CiderHouse becoming a venue for events, live music, corporate retreats and more. Our patio will be a fun location for locals and tourists to enjoy fresh, local cider made on site and farm fresh snacks & food. The inside of The CiderHouse will be cozy, where you and your loved ones can snuggle up next to our fireplace with cider in hand. You can purchase Saunders Cider Merchandise, Growlers, Seasonal Flavours and more... Some of which will only be available at The CiderHouse!
